Can a chinchilla own a stroke or heart attack?

we took chico to the vet last night and they just permit him die, wouldnt put him down or anything, i could see there was something really wrong with him, and they purely let him suffer till he was finally gone. it seemed similar to he coldnt walk he just kinda layed on oneside or the other but his legs were fine, he kinda a short time ago crawled when he moved. i was just wondering if anyone knows anything going on for chinchillas
Answers:     that does suck. but they do suffer from heart attacks from stress and are prone to respiratory probs from things like ceder bedding and pine
