Can anyone explain to me something like a "hole within septum" (heart)?
my boyfriend told me he has a hole in his septum. were both 20 and he say he will probably die before he reaches 50...
septum is the structure that separates the right nostril from the disappeared nostril. Your loved one will not die because of this.
Atrial septal defects (ASDs) are a group of unusual disorders of the heart that are present at birth (congenital) and involve a hole in the wall (septum) that separates the two upper-chambers (atria) of the heart.
A small opening between the two atria (foramen ovale) is present at birth. Shortly after birth, the atrial septum gradually grows and seal this opening. In infants with atrial septal defects, the atrial septum may not close properly or may be malformed during fetal nouns. In these disorders, the opening (called patent foramen ovale) between the atria persists long after it should be closed, resulting within an increase in the workload on the right side of the heart and excessive blood flow to the lungs.
Anyway, ASD is not life threatening. So, don't worry .
What Are Holes in the Heart?
A hole in the heart (also called an atrial septal deformity (ASD) or ventricular septal defect (VSD)) is a type of simple congenital (kon-JEN-i-tal) heart defect. This is a problem with the heart's structure that's present at birth. Congenital heart defect change the normal flow of blood through the heart.
heart has two sides, separated by an inner wall call the septum. With each heartbeat, the right side of the heart receives oxygen-poor blood from the body and pumps it to the lungs.

I had a hole in my heart. I had what they nickname ASD. Atrial Septum Defect. Yes it is an congenital heart defect. It is something that can lead to death since moved out untreated it will lead to congestive heart failure. I had break open heart surgery to fix the defect at the age of 39. I'm now almost 50. It should be fixed. Yes the surgery is scary but done by the right culture he could and should live a long and happy life. Before I had the operation done I would tire confidently when doing sports or running. It was because of the hole. The oxygenated blood was mixing with the unoxygenated blood and I wasn't getting plenty oxygenated blood going through my system. I never showed signs of it in any way that I had this fault. The only thing that picked up on it was an echocardiogram. The lone treatment that I am aware of is surgery. I had mine done at a children's hospital since it is an congentail heart defect. With most heart defects such as this man picked up on early in pregnancy this is usually done when a child is young. Having a pediatric surgeon doing my surgery I be easy for them. This hospital does thousands of these operations in a year. Gave me great hope of apt outcome.
