Anyone ever be on a diuretic for blood pressure?

Yesterday my dr. put my on a diuretic for my blood pressure. At first I really didn't understand what my kidneys had to do with my blood pressure but I come home and did a little research and understand that this diuretic is supposed to increase sodium i guess in the kidneys which produce more marine which flushed out the blood stream and creates less pressure on my arteries....something like that. So ok I understand....Pharmacist told me it I'd probably stir to the bathroom more due to the increase in water production. I don't know if I'm just imagine I have to pee all the time or if I really have to shift (you know power of thought) but I've been 4 times this morning (which is a lot for me). My Q is....is this going to get worse?
Answers:    I'm a pharmacist .
's how it works:
Initially thiazide increases the amount of sodium (salt) and dampen excreation ( the volume of urine) and so decreases the blood volume and cardiac output ( the extend heart pushes blood and increases your bloodd pressure) .
Later, following longterm treatment the blood volume reaches normal height and tolerance to the diuretic effect takes place . But then thiazide works in another route which is to relax your boold vessels ( lower your peripheral resistance) and hence result in narrowing of blood pressure.

Generally don't worry about the use of diuretics , the suituation will never be untolerated. Source(s): Pharmacology knowledge
you body will transform in a few days and you won't notice it so much. The normal personality should urinate every two hours minimum. You can help the diuretic work better if you drink water (2 liters daily).
