short answer is yes it can, but the true answer is that it doesn't have to.

There are three types of cardiomyopathy and it depends on the type, the cause, and the treatment.

It affects the muscle of the heart and can therefore cause phenomenal heart rhythms. but as long as the patient is sensible it doesn't HAVE to result in death.
