Do chickens convey adverse diseases?

i am 9 months pregnant. i live in an apartment complex in the city and there is a house across the street who have a herd of chickens as pets. They do not keep them contained and they run the streets wild normally coming into our complex and defecating in our grass. I have told the apartment complex manager and he doesnt give the impression of being to care and I tried complaining to the city and they just put my complaint on a long waiting list. The roosters stir me up every morning which is really annoying but worst of all I'm afraid that they could be bringing diseases into my home by people walking through the grass that has be contaminated with their feces and then walking into my apartment I have tried relating my roomates to wipe their feet but they hardly ever listen
Answers:    All animals have microbes in their digestive tracts, and manure of all sorts usually contains at tiniest e.coli, sometimes also salmonella. Fortunately though, none of those survive long exposed to air. Unless the chickens are leaving just tons of mess behind in your grass, it's not likely you would take in for questioning anything from them. Chicken flocks raised on organic farms run manic and free, and the farmers don't particularly suffer any from it. I understand you feeling fretful at the moment, and no doubt the early morning wake up call are irritating, but the chickens aren't posing you any particular health hazards from their droppings. Actually, chickens could be helping you within ways you haven't considered. Chickens happen to like eating bugs, it's a form of candy for them. Those chickens can drink their weight in roaches, mosquitos, and loads of other creepy crawlies. So they could be a small blessing in some ways. Just a short time something to think about.
