Mucus Throat Problem?

Over the recent years (2 Years) i have had this problem where mucus get accumulated in my throat and i find it difficult to breath as it stops it blocking my air ways, coughing sometimes help to move it but very rarely unless i do some severe coughs. This mucus which i have comes up out of the blue sometimes when i enjoy a cold and sometimes when i don't have a cold.
ve had this problem for a while and it is hugely frustrating as i don't know what to do and i don't know how to fix it, i get scared a lot of the times when near is a lot down my throat it i find it very difficult to breath i know its mucus because i can feel it surrounded by my throat for my prob which i have been having i own been taking a medicine when ever it comes up called Benylin cough mixture which help to keep a healthy cough and loosens mucus although this helps sometimes most of the time i believe that it does not affect at all.

After noticing i have this mucus surrounded by my throat because my voice goes all weird or i find it difficult to breath because it is blocking it i tried to cough it out which is a struggle to me and most of the time it unmistakably comes out with pressure and anxiety on my throat.

1. Could it be allergies? ( I know im allergic to House Dust and Grass but could it be food allergy please recommended what it could be )
2. Is this a case of a Chronic disease such as bronchitis?
3 Any other suggestions?

What is the solution? could someone please relay me what i should do because i don't want this with me through my whole life
Answers:     yea, this happens to me sometimes, i freshly get rid of it by drinking a nice glass of water.
Sounds like you have allergies. You stipulation to take an antihistamine... I would suggest you start with something over the counter that you can take twice day by day (more effective than 24 hour medications)...like Claritin or maybe Zyrtec. If you have something more serious like bronchitis, you'd run a fever.
It could be allergies, bronchitis, or a sinus infection that is to say unnoticed. go to the dr.
