Answers: ryu,
I get the message that you are nearly 14, I shall write details which may not apply to you, but which may be necessary. Chronic balanitis is when your symptoms last for several weeks, months or longer - the term chronic refers to time, not how serious the condition is. It can affect men of any age. Balanitis can also be acute (lasting singular a few weeks) or recurrent (it keeps coming back). Balanitis may be caused by a skin irritant (such as latex condoms, lubricants, soaps or antiseptics) and can become chronic if you save using the product that is irritating you. It is doubtful that you have/had Balanitis xerotica obliterans (BXO), as it usually affects men aged 45 to 60. If left untreated there is a five percent unpredictability that it will turn malignant. Zoon's balanitis is a rare skin condition of the glans and foreskin, also known as balanitis circumscripta plasmacellularis. It's a non-cancerous (benign) condition that affects men who haven't been circumcised. Its exact rationale is unknown. Usually there are few symptoms and very little or no pain. You may see orange-red lesion and smaller redder spots on your glans and adjacent foreskin. Other causes may be chronic skin conditions which include - psoriasis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, lichen planus, pemphigus. However, as you do not mention any of these they should likely not be considered. You should hold on to the head of your penis and foreskin as clean as possible, and not to use anything that might irritate the area, such as soap or latex condoms. Cleaning your penis twice a light of day with a weak saline solution (salt water) can be soothing and can relieve discomfort. To make a undersized saline solution, mix a teaspoonful of salt into half a litre (500ml) of warm hose. Alternatively, you could also try using an aqueous cream (eg E45 cream) to soothe and clean the area. If a skin irritant (eg soap or washing powder) is cause your balanitis, symptoms often go a couple of days after you stop using the product. But be careful - if you start using the product again symptoms can come stern. Your GP will usually prescribe a mild steroid cream. This helps to reduce the inflammation around your glans. You will also receive treatment for any other underlying medical conditions causing your balanitis. Your GP may ask you to come hindmost after a week or so to see how you are getting on with your treatment. If your symptoms aren't responding to treatment or they keep coming back despite treatment, you should narrate your GP. He or she may give you a different medication or refer you to a genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinic or a urologist so your symptoms can be investigated further. GUM clinics specialise in identify and treating sexual health conditions and conditions related to the urinary system (the system that produces urine). A urologist is a doctor who specialises in identify and treating conditions of the urinary tract in men. Circumcision is sometimes used to treat balanitis, especially Zoon's balanitis and BXO. Circumcision is an operation to remove the foreskin from the penis. It's usually done as a day case beneath general anaesthesia - this means you will be asleep during the procedure. Good genital hygiene is essential in preventing balanitis. Try to hang on to the head of your penis and foreskin clean and dry. And, if you are prone to balanitis after sex, use a non-latex condom or make sure you dry-clean and dry your penis shortly after having sex.

This sounds resembling a yeast infection from the balanitis. Most people think of yeast infections only within females or from sexual transmission. This isn't the full info on them. They can happen especially when you have a replication of the balanitis. Something happened where you somehow reinfected yourself. I'm having a problem wondering why you feel it was from xerotica though. This is an entirely different thing altogether and associated with an autoimmune disease. Please dance to the doctor and have it checked there. You some how knew you have the balanitis, so why not just make another appointment? You might have picked up an infection that turns out positive for MRSA also. Please mention or ask your doctor to check you for it. They can trial either blood or by nasal swab depending on the office policy. Some like to freshly take a swab and send it to the lab for further testing too. I really believe this is the best entry to do. This way you get both diagnosed and treated. Good luck and God Bless Source(s): nursing experience
