How can i avoid becoming sick until friday morning when populace around me are sick? (details inside)?
i'm having my tonsils out on friday morning and i can't afford to get a cold before consequently cuz they won't do the surgery if i get sick.
ephew has a cold and passed it along to my 16 month old niece as ably.
i had to watch them yesterday, today, and will have to monitor them tomorrow.
i have been trying to avoid too much contact with my nephew and he does cover his mouth when he coughs and he stays rotten the furnature to help keep the germs from sprearding but i have to be fairly close to my niece much of the time and with her only being a tot she doesn't understand the concept of using tissues so she keeps wiping her muzzle on ME!
my sister wanted me to watch them at her house tomorrow cuz it will be from 7pm-10pm so the kids can go to sleep around 8:30pm but i'd to some extent not go there cuz who knows what my nephew have touched there (probably EVERYTHING since its his house ya know?)
elp me please i can't afford to get even a sore throat.
what should i do and what should i use to aviod getting sick for the subsequent 36 hours?
Answers: buy a mask at the rite aid or something and ask for a surgeons mask that covers mouth and nose. you may look stupid but it might salvage your life like what the cancer patients wear
Wash your hand all the time! Use lots of lysol. You can also clean with a bleach/water solution.
Wash your hand frequently especially before you eat.
Try to avoid touching your face, especially your eyes, trunk and mouth.
ou go to your sis' house make sure she has Lysol and/or bleach. Wipe down the bathroom counter, toilet, sink handle and doorknob. (Doorknobs are one of the dirtiest things you touch).
Drink some OJ and focus on eating and drinking healthy for the next hours of daylight or two. Also, if you can stomach it, take an Airborne tablet. They are "all natural" and there is plentifully of debate if they work or not, but it can't really hurt. (Although I think they taste terrible!)
A few of our little tips:
drink pickle liquid for a sore throat
peppermint helps an upset belly
black olives help an upset belly Source(s): good luck!
The incubation period ranges depending on your overall condition. Since the child's mucus has already been all over you and your clothes the mucus carrying the cold virus is even on any pacifiers and bottle nipples too. If you've touched any of these and next didn't wash your hands your already exposed. Whether you'll get it or not depends on your overall condition and if you've been on antibiotics prophylactic-ally before having your tonsils out. Either course start drinking water, allot of it. Water will help flush any bad germs out and facilitate strengthen the immune system at the same time. Get plenty of rest. Your body will need this afterwords anyway and starting now will also aide contained by your fight against the cold. Vitamin C and a daily multivitamin all lend a hand too. Other than this as long as you aren't coughing and/or sneezing and there's no fever present you should be fine for your tonsillectomy. Make sure you advise your surgeon before the procedure in the region of this situation. As long as there aren't any of the above symptoms and you're truthful the procedure should be fine for you to have. Good luck and God Bless Source(s): nursing experience
