High hsCRP level, Is it okay to operate?
I have surgery in 2 days, my hsCRP levels are extremely high-ranking. I know anything over 3.0 is concerning, but mine is 51.3. I need someones view from a medical stand point, whether its okay to operate or not? I know hsCRP measures how much inflammation and or infection the body has. But I own a torn partial lateral meniscus, possible torn medial meniscus, grade 2 LCL tear and severe Effusion. My knee have a lot of fluid build up, and I'm just concerned with the possibilities of infection, staph, and the worst that could be is septicemia. I'm 20 years infirm, this is my second knee arthroscopy in the last 6 months. So I know within could be issues, but I just want to know what to look out for. Thank You :)
Answers: The question as to whether it is okay to operate is one you should be asking your surgeon and not just anyone on Yahoo. He/she is the one who have all of the information on your current health and I assume that he has see all relevant blood work and other lab tests.
