(+) TB skin tryout and (-) Chest X-ray? Help?

my TB skin test got a + result
rding to this. I own the inactive bacteria in my body.
should i aim for medication?
OR.... wait till i see the symptoms (cough, sneeze, chills...) that last more than 4 days.
i read that i should wait till i hold the TB active then I should start using the antibodies for about 6 months or so that will cure me from TB... cuz since i'm exposed. the TB skin question paper will always have the positive result. so I should only verbs when i actually have the TB right?
Answers:    Ya, only wait until you get symptoms. If you ever do that is, of late because you hold the bacteria does not mean that you will ever develop TB.
Are you perhaps originally from outside of North America? You could have be vaccinated using a bacteria similar to the one that causes TB. This would be set to that the similar bacteria induced the production of antibodies that would normally be produced during a TB infection. These antibodies would cause your positive skin experiment; it does not mean that you have or had TB. Which is why the chest x-ray is done. However if you hold never been vaccinated for TB then I am not sure.
Have you had any distrustful TB skin tests in the past? That would at lowest possible establish a time-line for the infection. Yes, having inactive bacteria surrounded by your body is still considered an infection. Did you have sputum specimens collected for culture? The sputum will also give an indication of TB organisms in your lungs. That is importantly correlated with active infection. You are also considered contagious if TB organisms are present on a sputum smear.
should never wait until symptoms develop. You cannot assume the infection is immobile. It could be too early for symptoms to show. Please do not wait. for symptoms before launch treatment.

You didn't mention where you live. In the US, a first-time positive Tb skin test is ALWAYS treated. The treatment always consists of two drugs to lessen the possibility of resistant strains developing. The usual course is for six months minimum. Without complications that should be ample to give complete cure. Source(s): Microbiologist/Chemist, Public Health
