What is the best anti-nausea drug available?

Answers:    ask you doctor!
Hi
nding on the type of nausea there is many different types of medication.

The best entity I can advise is to take fruit salts to curb the nausea. I wouldn't support try to treat it, treat the underlying problem.

Hope this helps

It really depends on the cause of the Nausea. Persistent nausea generally falls into four categories:-
Many classes of drugs exhibit anti-emetic properties e.g. antihistamines, phenothiazines (such as prochlorperazine) and anti-psychotic drugs (such as haloperidol). Metoclopramide acts directly on the gastrointestinal tract and may be the drug of choice for visceral causes.

Medications including pyridoxine and doxylamine, have be shown to be safe and effective treatments in pregnancy, although neither are within widespread use. Dolasetron is particularly useful for post-operative nausea and vomiting and that associated next to cytotoxic therapy.
methasone and nabilone may be useful for patients on cytotoxic drugs with nausea to be exact resistant to other therapy.

Of course it's more useful to address the underlying problem. If you are just looking for a travel sickness drug next go with something like Hyoscine which is the most impressive drug for motion sickness. You could also try Antihistamines but they are nowhere near as effective as Hyoscine.

If motion sickness isn't your problem then Stemetil (prochlorperazine) as I mentioned above is moderately effective. Source(s): Registered Nurse
