Does anyone know where on earth you can attain a prescription for Zyvox full up for smaller amount than $2,410?

My fiance was just given a prescription for 600mg of Zyvox, and we were told by the Walgreen's pharmacist that it would cost $2,410! Can anyone let somebody know us how or where we can get it cheaper? He is on Medicare but we still don't know how much out of pocket expense it will be once it's approved...
Answers:    you may need to be on a medicare drug plan, but I am not sure give or take a few that.
you know the actual out of pocket you can try pricing it around, including online, LOW-COST-RX.COM is a site I have used in the past and they hold a generic for $15 per pill, still expensive but not $2400
It's impressive that he know what his share of prescription expenses will be. There's no reason he can't contact Medicare and find out what his share would be if the med were approved. It's his responsibility to know exactly what is and isn't covered.

When he contacts a Medicare rep, he can also inquire as to which comparable antibiotics are in Medicare's formulary. (That's the word he'll need to use -- formulary) Once he have the information he needs, he may want to ask his doctor to rewrite for another, less expensive or formulary drug depending on what he finds out.
