Flu...how long does it bring to recuperate?
I am pretty sure me and my 11 yr old daughter have the flu...she threw up 4x last hours of darkness and me, once...we have the chills and then feel sweaty...achy adjectives over...we are both going to the docotrs tomorrow..how long til we feel better? i have a trip to go to subsequent tuesday so we need to both feel better by than? thanks
Answers: Don't think that's going to happen. So you must consider which is more important? Your and your daughter's condition or that trip?
If you two do have the flu - any flu - it is better to rest as much as you can.
Depends on how much vitamins A, B and C she takes in. Plus how much chicken soup you pour down her. Or or some other elevated protein broth, but chicken soup is traditional. Give her the broth and keep her hydrated and make sure that she gets plenty of electrolytes-pedialyte, possibly.
At least 7 days.
for one drink plenty of fluids and Tylenol would help until you get to the doctor. it might whip a couple of weeks to completely get over it, take it easy and procure some rest so your body can get over that nasty flu bug.
Tuesday would be too soon, even if the two of you are idea better. You have a social responsibility to keep your illness to yourself (not the fun quantity of the flu...if there is a fun part). According to the US Centers for Disease Control, "At the current time, CDC believes that this virus has the same properties within terms of spread as seasonal flu viruses. With seasonal flu, studies have shown that relations may be contagious from one day before they develop symptoms to up to 7 days after they get sick. Children, especially younger children, might potentially be contagious for longer period." http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/qa.htm
mber that although the flu (swine or not) may not seem like a big deal to your and your kids, beyond the discomfort, it can be incurable to other populations. You can initiate a bad "ripple effect," even if you feel well. The opinion is that you and yours stay away from the rest of us for 7 days or 24 hours after symptom clear, whichever is LONGER.
If you can, please delay your trip.
Best wishes!
Maybe a week. Better postpone the trip.
Anywhere from 24 hours to 10 days. Sorry but I will send you a huge hug everyday for 10 days to net you feel somewhat better. Good luck and hope you and your daughter feel better sooooooon!
