Hi !! i cannot give any actual percentages but yes frequent people die each year from flue, and even severe colds. these though are usually people who hold other health problems as well, it is therefore a combination of reason for their deaths, and these are generally elderly people. You are quite right. In an average year the number of deaths from dreary flu is about 7,000 here in UK and probably about 40,000 plus right across the EU.
swine flu (the great pig passing plague) is very mild.
Flu tends to be more endemic in the cooler and damper months, usually from October through March.

yes but devise the big difference in countries like Uk is that the vulnerable culture have vaccines to give some immunity ,against ordinary flu, thus keeping death rates at a certain level ,, whereas no vaccine is as all the same available against swine flu so a much higher mortality rate can be expected ,, as more people will catch it and exceed it on to the vulnerable . It is anticipated that a vaccine will be available shortly. month or two . and then it will drastically slow down the spread , the death rate might economically be lower than for normal flu then as it seems commonly to be not so virulent,, Also the vaccine will be very necessary if the swine flu mutates and gets abundantly more dangerous than common flu .

Here is some information on what happen in 1918. I had the flu in 1993 and have to take an ambulance to the hospital and found out that I had a 105 degree restlessness. I don't think I was in any menace of dying, but from how I felt I could see how it was easily possible, and conceivably I could have died without any treatment to get my hallucination down. I had to go back to the hospital a few days following due to dehydration. It took me a few weeks to recover and I lost about 15 pounds. At the time I was 31 and without blemish healthy. Yes. Normal flu kills thousands every year. I think it's about 20,000 a year but I'll try to confirm. The medium are trying to hype Swine Flu.

All these bugs tend to be bad for the young, old or people contained by bad health. It's natures means of access of knocking out the weak.
