How are they trialling for swine flu?
I was just wondering how are the GPs testing if you really hold swine flu? Are they really taking blood samples from everyone who contacts the doctor when they have flu-like symptoms? I know of someone who has be diagnosed with mild swine flu but, as far as I know, they haven't had any specific tests. If this turns out as unpromising as it may do how are they going to cope with all this testing - it took 2 weeks for me to bring the results of a simple blood test so how can they possibly cover this accurately. Ok, there are some cases where empire will die but with a bad case of flu (I've with the sole purpose had this once in my life) you start to recover surrounded by a few days to a week.
Answers: When I got tested they put a swab up my snout and another down my throat. I got my swine flu results in 26 hours but my nephew waited 4 days, it of late depends on how busy they are in yo ur area
Hi :)
not to worry about it.
They are NOT actually conducting tests anyone for it anymore. This is because so many people are contracting the virus they haven't got the time & resources.
>We have gone past the 'containing stage' and we are now within the 'treatment stage' which means we are no longer swabbing people. GPs make a diagnosis by assessment of symptoms. There is a difference between flu symptoms and adjectives cold symptoms. Source(s): Registered Nurse
