Girlfriend have a cold sore... Safe to kiss on the mouth?

My girlfriend just got a cold sore. I don't know if this means she have "herpes," I assume it just means she picked up the virus. Is it unsafe to kiss her on the mouth? After the cold sore heals, is she okay to kiss, and how soon after?

Thanks within advance to all who answer my question!
Answers:     As long as the cold sore is there and not healed then no, you can obtain the cold sore from here. You can resume kissing her as soon as its completely healed. Why you would want to kiss her with a cold sore, i don't know, thats kind of gross.
A cold sore is a symptom of oral herpes. It does not mean that she has genital herpes. If you kiss her while she have a coldsore, there is a good chance that you will acquire oral herpes. She can also transmit the virus to your genitals if she gives you oral sex while she has a coldsore. Risk of transmission of herpes when in attendance is no outbreak is extremely low.
A cold sore is a type of herpes on the mouth. It does NOT aim she has herpes down there. If she kisses you while she has it, you'll attain it on your mouth, too. If she gives you a "mouth hug" on your General, then you'll get herpes on your unwanted items, and that won't be good for anyone. To be safe, wait to kiss her until it's gone unless you'd similar to to get one.
