What is it approaching living near sickle cell anemia/disease?

My partner and I both have the sickle cell trait and we are thinking about having a little one. We would like to know from someone living with the disease what its like. How recurrently do you have a crisis? How do you cope day to day? Do you discern any resentment toward your parents?
If you know someone living with SCA please respond also.
Answers:    i have sickle cell anemia, but i live life as if i don't hold it. i take this great drug called hydroxyruea, it's helped me alot and i with the sole purpose have mild pain at times. and i don't resent my parents, i'm actually thankfull that they introduced me to this drug.

oh, and within case u were wondering i've been taking hydrea for 10 years and nearby are no side effects. keep in mind that sickle cell affects every one differently. some may have a crisis every month, others once a year, it adjectives depends.
