Terrible symptoms and I don't know what is wrong?
I am 15 and lately I have been having strange condition issues (I don't know if that is the best way to put it). Here are some things that have be happening:
-depression- I own had depression before but never like this. I don't want to hang up out with my friends, I just want to stay home (possibly from lack of sleep?)
-wheezing- I do own asthma but I have not wheezed in several years and surrounded by just the past week I have be wheezing everyday and at night.
ght gain- I have gained almost 15 lbs within 3 months
-terrible,long lasting head aches- I have be having a head ache that have been lasting for 5 days and along with it I perceive nausea and dizziness.
Please backing me. I am feeling totally frustrated and fed up and it is putting me into depression.
I have see my family doctor about it and she thought it was depression so she put me on Lexapro (but I have an adverse reaction and they immediately took me off of it).
Answers: Celiac disease be my first thought. I had most of those symptoms with it. Honestly, even if the test comes final negative, I still think you should try the gluten free diet. There are actually slightly a few false negatives with it and there are ancestors who have non-celiac gluten intolerance. As for the wheezing, I have celiac disease and dairy allergy secondary to it and when I munch through dairy it triggers my asthma. I think you should wait until you get tested (if you start the diet previously then, you will start to heal and it will screw up the results), but even if it comes support negative you should try the gluten free anyway. After a few weeks gluten free you should try dairy free as well and see how you react. Let me know if you enjoy any questions.
