Why do I "pretend" so much?

I don't know why but I talk to people I know aren't there, not similar to I'm seeing them. I often pretend I'm getting beaten up or abused by someone. Sometimes I'll be the abuser, but it's usually the other way around. When I'm home alone I run around my house and deed like someone is chasing after me and trying to kill me. That's basically the worst of it. But I do it constantly.

might be suffering from paranoid schizophrenia.
Paranoid Schizophrenia ---one of the most dangerous of all mental disorders---causes its victims to lose touch with reality. They commonly begin to hear, see, or feel things that aren't really there (hallucinations) or become convinced of things that simply aren't true (delusions).

In the paranoid form of this disorder, they develop delusion of persecution or personal grandeur. The first signs of paranoid schizophrenia usually surface between the ages of 15 and 34. There is no cure, but the disorder can be controlled with medication. Severe attacks may require hospitalization.

The causes of schizophrenia are still under debate. A chemical imbalance contained by the brain seems to play a role, but the reason for the imbalance remains unformed. We do know that you're a bit more likely to become schizophrenic if you have a family partaker with the illness. Stress does not cause schizophrenia, but can form the symptoms worse

I strongly believe it's not a case of OCD (Obsessive -compulsive disorder due to the following:

Anxiety is the most common symptom. For example, you may enjoy an overall sense that something terrible will happen if you don't do a certain assignment, such as check again and again to see whether the stove is on. If you fail to check, you may suddenly feel tense or anxious or own a nagging sense that you left something undone.

It might just be a baggage that you're bored. You just want to have a colorful life full of furious fantasies; imaginations and colorful adventures. Or you have that imaginary friend. In this defence, there's no harm and this is totally normal. Source(s): professional nurse
hahahah im like that .... sort of.
usually when im bored
idk, i wondered if anyone else did it too haha
:)
You might want to be evaluated by a competent mental condition professional. It does sound sort of like a ruminating thoughts thing, which could be OCD, and they might know how to help you. OCD might be common, but if it's interfering with your energy in a bad way, afterwards you need to be treated for it.

Only you know which it is. Good luck.

I'm editing this to say that I own conversations with myself in the mirror, especially when I'm stressed about something. I do trial runs of what I might read aloud, or sometimes I go over what I could've said, saying my side of it while imagining their side of it within my head. What you wrote didn't sound like that, so that's why I answered the passageway I did. Source(s): I have OCD, as well as bipolar disorder.
