About Scoliosis Surgery?

I'm almost 14 and I have an S curve.
top curve is 34 degrees.

And the bottom 24.

I'm getting my surgery done when near is a room in the hospital.

Has anyone else had the surgery done?

I've heard stories about how they own to break your ribs and collapse your lungs...

So can you tell me what have been done to you for your surgery?

Heyy I'm 15 and had the surgery 2 months ago. I had almost a complete S like you and I presume around the same degrees. I'm pretty sure they don't break your ribs, but yes they give you prescription that makes your lungs relax but its no big deal cause you'll enjoy a breathing tube to breathe for you. Its be 2 months and I'm already living my life normal again. You'll be in profoundly of pain. If you have any more questions at adjectives about it just email me. I'd be happy to answer them. Hi i had this surgery done when i was 14 and i too have 2 curves,
you must have heard all the horror stories and breaking your ribs and deflate the lungs is all lies so you can relax, that sounds like a true horror story that you heard and the worst all the same!

and thats why you cant google it its because they don't do that or it would kill you!

ce of bone taken from my pelvis to fuse to my spine to fuse it and after they fitted me with a rod to hold it all in place,

and i have to wear a plaster cast for 6 months after so that the spine could fuse,my surgery took 5 hours and no they didn't break my ribs at all or deflate my lungs so relax you will be just fine and rebuke those horror stories. Source(s): Personal experience.
