Anyone know nearly drug call Metformin?
I was prescribed Metformin by my doctor because I am insulin resistant but I have not taken it in in the order of 5 days because it makes me really sick, and the doctor said there is nothing else they can put me on. I know you are not supposed to drink alcohol while taking Metformin, and I enjoy not. MY QUESTION IS...IF I JUST HAVE 1-3 DRINKS, AND SINCE I HAVE NOT TAKEN METFORMIN IN 5 DAYS, WILL THIS BE HAZARDOUS TO MY HEALTH? HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET METFORMIN OUT OF YOUR SYSTEM?
Answers: If you haven't taken it in 5 days you will probably be fine. I took it for awhile and it made me sick too. I drank while on it one time and it was weird, I get drunk really fast. It probably wasn't very good for me at adjectives! But I think 5 days is long enough for it to get out of your system. In what mode are you insulin resistant? Do you have PCOS? Prediabetes? the Dr is wrong..there are other meds to take...and if you're diabetic you aren't supposed to drink anyway (the metiformin will not matter)
Talk to your Doc about the drinking thing, I would not unpredictability it & I would not go off meds without describing him...
