A blood clot be found contained by my uncle's leg almost a week & 1/2 ago.?
He's been in the hospital since & is on medication. He also has fluid within his knee. The doctors are unable break up the clot & don't want to remove the fluid in his knees as a consequence of the blood thinners. Is there a better procedure?
Answers: No, he is in the best place and in the best of diligence too, if anything were to happen. The doctor's and vascular surgeons have already have this very conversation. I really don't think the family's are kept aware of all the things that stir into a diagnosis and prognosis and then the possible equations too. They have a meeting of sorts,taking everything close to age and other health problems into the treatment plan. Then the best possible decision is made for him. He or the next of kin can other ask for a clarification on the treatment plan or for the doctor to go over it with them too. Then it's for them to inform the rest of the family. Medication, resembling the blood thinners are the best way to go most of the time for any blood clot. So, be happy he is where on earth he is and has such great doctors too. Then visit him if you can so he can know just how much you love him too. This is a great track for you to know the best way for him, but his doctors are the best people to answer all the question. If you don't live around him this is understandable for your concern. Please ask the closest family member surrounded by that area to be honest and to keep you informed every day so you will be kept surrounded by the loop of who wants to know and who needs to know. When the next of kin is upset plenty about this, it's very hard to try and maintain everyone informed and up to date. See if maybe someone near him can be nominated as a family spokes-person that will save everyone in the family informed and someone you can call too.
