A question roughly speaking society near aspergers syndrome?
Can someone who has Aspergers be average in intelligence. Having done a little research, it seem that a person with AS has a trustworthy thing they know a lot about, for ex..cassette..or astronomy, or just anything. Is this true? Can someone have aspergers w/out having an desire and a lot of knowledge about something?
Answers: People with Asperger's can have average to rare talent level IQs. Asperger's and mental retardation (low IQ) are mutually exclusive diagnoses.
rstand that Asperger's specifically and Autism in general are deficit in social interaction. NOT deficits in intelligence. People near autism can ALSO have a diagnosis of mental retardation, but not all do.
Aspergers syndrome is a form of autism, it is agreed that people with this usually are very Intelligent at one hard to please interest, however it is possible that they can have an all around general ease even if it got nothing to do with within obsession it is very rare but yes relatives can have aspergers without having an enthusiasm and a lot of knowledge about something but this is in danger of extinction because theseare the two biggest symptoms of the disease Source(s): my friend has aspergers
People beside Asperger's syndrome can be average or above average in intelligence.
People with Asperger's syndrome usually have an devotee interest about something, but not all of them do. Also, while most become very up to date about their interest, not all do.
"B.Restricted repetitive and stereotyped pattern of behavior, interests, and activities, as manifested by at least one of the following:
(1) encompassing preoccupation near one or more stereotyped and restricted patterns of interest that is abnormal any in intensity or focus
stereotyped and repetitive motor mannerisms (e.g., hand or finger flapping or twisting, or complex whole-body movements)
(4) annoying preoccupation with parts of objects"
If the person has one of those, along beside fitting the rest of the diagnostic criteria, then they have Asperger's syndrome (you can see the rest of the diagnostic criteria here: http://www.aspergers.com/aspcrit.htm). Source(s): I have Asperger's syndrome myself.
