ACL complete opening not repaired?

I had a horse accident, acl tear and miniscus fold. During surgery on repairing my acl, he found alot of arthritis and said near was no need in repairing acl presently, because it would just continue to pop back out. Any suggestions ??
Answers:    A few of my friends (in their 20s) enjoy acl tears and have not surgically corrected them. Instead, they choose to strengthen the muscles around their legs to provide the extra support.
