Swelling ibuprofen to blame?

I took ibuprofen for about a week and then i stopped. i havent taken it for four days now. in a minute i have swelling on my left shoulder, my stomach, and on my ribs, and a small part on my ankle. my foot, hands, and ankles are fine. do you think i had an allergic criticism?

If you were going to have an allergic impulse to Ibuprofen, it would have happened while you were taking it. As it happen, ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory, and helps reduce swelling. Your current swelling could have more to do beside you not taking it than it was due to taking it. If you have problems with fluid retention, or affliction, then perhaps it's time to see the doctor and find out what's going on. Source(s): nurse
An allergic reaction happen quicker than that. If you had a reaction to the ibuprofen, it would've happened during the week, not 4 days after.

You should see a doctor if you enjoy that much swelling.
