32 yr.behind the times womanly beside mild DDD L4-5 and L5-s1 near slight disc bulging and impingement, thats scratchy and numb-?

I had an mri,ct and bone scan done and was told that I may need surgery. There be also findings of fibrolipoma in the filum terminale with conus medullaris that extends down to at least the mid body of L3, possible a mild tethered cord - which the orthopedic dr.say perhaps I was born with.I really don't have a sneaking suspicion that I was born with it because about 2 mo.ago I have an accident and it began hurting VERY badly. Also near was findings of C5-C6 mild disc narrowing. At c6-c7 there is moderate disc narrowing with small anterior osteophytes and possibly a small osteophyte extending from the posterior inferior surface of C6 near mild spodylolosisat C5-C6.I have had chronic pain for 5 years and finally get all of these tests done (I was busy have babies lol which aggravated my symptoms)so now with all of that I am have pain and numbness accompanied with weakness(right side) going from my d¨Ścolletage down to underneath my shoulderblade to my fingers.also in my lower back going to behind buttocks to foot on the right side.I am afraid that one day I will no longer be able to do fun things with my 4 daughters and am frustrated.I be told that I may need surgery but am very afraid.Has anyone else had similiar symptoms and what be done to relieve the pain? I will be referred to an arthritis dr. and hopefully to pain management. For time man,I was put on ibuprofen, tylenol (alternate)muscle relaxer and t3's(which I practically have to beg for)It is so rock-hard to be in constant pain and take nurture of a family.I am applying for disability also and hope I get approved.Thank you sooo much for reading this and I hope to hear from other people that are also suffering.I really dont know adjectives of the meanings to the big medical terms,so it anyone could please translate lol that would be nice in english and simple words lol. :)

That's seriously to decipher! Fibrolipoma: oma = tumor, fibro = fiber, lipo = fat. So you have a fatty tumor near some fiber in it, near the tail bone.
Dorland's: Tethered cord syndrome: a congenital (present at birth) anomaly (deviating from normal) resulting from defective closure of the neural tube; the conus medullaris (the cone-shaped lower end of the spinal cord) is curiously low and is tethered by one or more forms of intradural abnormality such as a short, thickened filum terminale, fibrous bands or adhesions (stuck together), or an intraspinal lipoma.

An osteophyte is a bony out-growth that doesn't belong nearby, and could conceivably cause pain when it presses against whatever.

The pain and numbness near weakness would indicate a nerve that is pushed aside (or pinched) contained by the area of the cervical spine. Has your doctor given you some exercises (simple ways to move) that help reduce the backache? There are some very effective "exercises" for the low back. The spasm that goes behind the buttox, and down to toes may be from the sciatic nerve (largest bottle in the body), and may be controlled by using exaggerated good posture for a day.

Remember how they told you to hang on to your stomach muscles tight, your seat tucked under, shoulders back and pretend there's a string from the top of your boss to the ceiling? It's effective for helping sciatic pain. Avoid surgery if you can. It doesn't alway have a great outcome, though they're research more every day.
sk for back exercises to help next to correction. They're not strenuous, in fact some are done lying on the bed. And do try not to become dependent on pain pills. Tylenol #3 have codeine, and it can be habit-forming. Have you tried Aleve? It's great for broken bones, but I don't know how it is for nerve problems.

I don't know how much help this is, but hope it helps some.
Don't know where on earth you are in the world, but maybe you can find something like Texas Back Institute, where on earth that's all they work on - they'd be more specialized and more up-to-date on effective treatment without resorting to surgery.
mentioned an arthritis doctor - this would be an Orthopedic Surgeon. Orthopods regularly specialize in backs, knees, or hands, etc. See if he is affiliated beside a Back Institute.

I do wish you a lot of good luck and devout physicians!
