I basically discovered I enjoy graves disease. Before I found out I be have eye problems?

I went to an eye doctor twice because of the pressure and straining I felt in both my eyes. It be frustrating when he found nothing wrong because they hurt all the time. My vision get blurry and I hate the light and sometimes I catch myself pushing the lid down to feel some relief. My eyes are not bulging and they do close all the channel but I was wondering if this is the symptoms of the graves eye disease?
Answers:    I am sorry to hear you are having problems with your thyroid. Please nick some comfort in knowing it can be controlled via medication though. As for your eyes, yes you can have symptoms with them also beside this disease. In Graves' ophthalmopathy, your eyeballs bulge out past their protective orbit (exophthalmos). This occurs as tissues and muscles behind your eyes swell and wreak your eyeballs to move forward. Because your eyes may be pushed so far forward, the front surface of your eyes can become dry. Cigarette smokers with Graves' disease are five times more likely than nonsmokers to develop Graves' ophthalmopathy. This is possibly because smoking inhibits the absorption of anti-thyroid medication specifically used to treat Graves' disease.
es' ophthalmopathy may cause these mild signs and symptoms:

Excess tearing and sensation of grit or sand in any or both eyes
Reddened or inflamed eyes
ling of the lids and tissues around the eyes
Light sensitivity
Less often, Graves' ophthalmopathy can produce these serious signs and symptoms:

le vision
Limited eye movements
Blurred or reduced hallucination
Hope this helped you to understand a little better and not to nouns. Best of luck to you.
