Help?! diagnose my dad's disorder...?

my dad's been ill for 5 weeks now and have been to the doctor once. they said he has the flu. however, the flu surely isn't meant to end this long?
toms are:
body aching
temperature
chills
len glands (can see a swelling on throat)

he's had blood test today and we're awaiting results. can you help before then?

I don`t know he has glandular fever? Those are all symptoms of that
