What is the correct course of behaviour for a thyroid problem?

I have been experiencing problems over the last couple of months beside feeling constantly sick, having an acidy feeling contained by my throat, exhaustion, and shaky hands.
his weird? I am really worried that my doctor is handling the situation really defectively as she seemed a bit unsure of how the condition is treated...and I thought asking me to wait 12 months and then jump to 3 was a little odd.
Any suggestion? I am thinking of going private as I'm really worried about leaving it untreated.
Answers:     Take second opinion. Seems hyper thyroid.
As advise by Doctor you will have to take medicine natural life long.
Fasting brings most body functions to common levels and puts the body through a period of deep cleansing where on earth dead tissues are recycled and toxins are filtered out. In the end your body will come out younger.

For first time fasters I'd suggest juce fast for atleast 3 to 5 days, then over time build up to 2 or 3 weeks.
is some material.

I would definitely get a second opinion. I be diagnosed with hypothyroidism 7 years ago, and I was prescribed Synthroid the day I get my test results back, and I have be on it ever since. This is not something to mess around with, and many times, thyroid problems CAN go away after supplementing it near medicine for a year or two. However, mine IS lifelong, and my thyroid is starting to fail rapidly (I own a 9 mm lump and my levels are way off - they enjoy increased my dose twice in 2 months), but that is just how it go sometimes. But I definitely think you need a second evaluation.
if it be me I would get a second opinion. that doesn't sound right. You should really hold that treated.
Thyroxine is T4 and it's a major hormone secreted by the thyroid. These level are used to measure thyroid hormone concentration and to determine thyroid function. Unfortunately, you weren't more specific as to what kind of T4 was ordered and run. The single test your value comes close to is a free T4, which has a typical range of 1.0 to 2.3ng/dL.
doctor was not incorrect in wish to take a conservative approach by suggesting a 12 month follow up with retesting but I understand your concerns. Your doctor be also not incorrect in agreeing to a retest in 3 months. Remember that this is YOUR body and you DO have some say-so in the matter, don't you?

It's very impressive to have confidence in those who provide your health concern. I, myself, have a young Internist as my primary and I confront her, disagree with some of her diagnoses and routinely supporter for myself. So there's no reason you can't do the same. But I also understand that most society aren't accustomed to treating their doctors as equals, questioning their decisions and may hesitate to speak up for themselves. Therefore, if you guess you'd be more comfortable with a more assertive and aggressive physician, change doctors.
