I hold an upper endoscopy programmed for Friday and I necessitate some constructive information.?

OK let me tell you a little more or less myself:
a 21 year old male, I'm taking Protonix, I had a cough that have gotten better in recent weeks, it used to be I'd get coughing fits maybe once a week where on earth I'd cough so hard I'd vomit a little bit, but I'm never actually sick, however, this cough I've have since like last year, but my doc feels its GERD relatein seventh heavent I haven't had a coughing fit in over a month. I feel as though I enjoy a runny nose sometimes and swallowing mucus. I do NOT cough blood, I do NOT have blood in my stools, I do NOT hold trouble swallowing or anything like that. I burp a lot, it makes me get the impression better, and one odd thing is, I NEVER have heartburn. One doctor said Gastritis, the other said GERD. They're doing an endoscopy, I discern healthy as a horse. What do you think they'll find, I'm rather strung-up about my health as I don't feel close to anything is wrong with me other than anyone else that has mild symptoms of tart reflux. I'm basically asking this so I can feel a little more in safe hands and not worry as much. Thanks in advance for the info and responses!
Answers:    The stress can motive symptoms of GERD by itself.

You did not mention if you were on any other medications, some medications hold "chronic coughing" as a side effect....

They may find nothing, as you say you are athletic as a horse. They could find a small structural issue. They could find you have a stress induced ulcer.

Either way though, the EGD sounds similar to a good idea. It never hurts to get a experiment done (well most of the time).

ss is a killer...No ploy! but I guess it can't be avoided. Are you worried about the procedure?? or what they will find??

As for the procedure, you seriously will not feel much. I had one done give or take a few 6 months ago, and I too was very nervous and anxious give or take a few the procedure and what they would find. You will not remember much and it will be over in 10-15 mins. You will wake up and the doctor can describe you most of the time the same day what he/she saw. If they see something that is a concern they will do a biopsy at one and the same time. they can tell you if there is any thing wrong next to your stomach, throat, esophagus. Don't worry it will be painless and it's better to know now.It could very powerfully juts be mild gerd. Hang in there and Good luck! Source(s): personal experience
