All roughly speaking hernia repair?
sir, please give me details of hernia surgery procedures, recovery time, post operation complications etc.
Answers: For inguinal hernia the surgery is quick and the salvage time a few weeks - in up to 70 per cent of cases. Finding out about complications is essential, as up to 30 per cent of those who have have this surgery feel worse a year after the surgery than they did before it (see links). It depends on what type of hernia you are having repaired. Inguinal? Hiatal? Ventral? I have had several ventral hernia repairs, so I can notify you on those....as long as all goes as planned with no problems...the surgery take a couple hours and in some instances you go home the next sunshine...or a few days...they sometims insert a mesh to help reinforce the area...you have to be vigilant just about watching for signs of infection..you wont be able to lift, push or pull for a couple months....you sill hold to "splint" your site when you cough or sneeze for quite awhile...it really varies as to what kind of hernia and how big it is and how they jump about repairing it....Before having it done, I would research it very all right, read up on all the possible complications, talk to your doctor about it and ask lots of question...one HUGE possible surgical problem is puncturing your bowel or bladder...which can be life threatening if not noted and taken care of immediately, kind sure you have a really experienced doctor anytime you are going under the knife, even for seemingly simple / routine procedures! You must be your own strength advocate! Doctors are not infallible..they are people...look out for yourself always! Good Luck!
