What is it call when a artery get wrapped around a testical causeing discomfort and misery?

My boyfriend has surgry a while back on his balls because a capillary was wrapped around his testical cutting off circulation to his ball. He was puking and his tomach was cramping. almost like he get kicked in the nuts. But when he went to the hospital that had to do an emergency surgry on his testicals to remove the capillary or he could ahve died. Any Idea what this is called and why it happend? Serious answers please.
Answers:    Torsion of the testes. This is when the testes is twisted and the blood vessels are twisted in the process, adjectives off circulation to the testes. The can cause the testes to die off due to the insufficiency of circulation.

The cause is simply the testes being twisted around. Why the testes twists around may be due to anatomical variation allowing the testes to verbs.
