Advice on your experiences of Alzheimers please......?
Hello,
Can you please let me know your experiences and (if you can bear to say) what happen symptom wise as the person neared the extension of their life as I fear things are going downhill rapidly for us. Also, from a precision point of view, do you know of any options such as a night time assistance, so my father in law can get some rest to trouble for her better. Thank you so much to anyone who answers as I know this is a very sore subject for most people x
Answers: I lost my mum to Alzheimers in May of this year. She have been living on her own, but contracted the disease 6 or 7 years previously ( I lost my father 25 years ago. My brother attempted to care for her but she became incontinent and took to wandering bad, so she was placed in a care home. She did not appear to be aware of who we were. lost the power of speech, apart from the odd word, and eventually could not move or feed herself. At the call a halt, she was taken to hospital, where she seemed to leisurely just shut down.
Hope this helps
As to symtoms I don't know much only worse and worse finally forgeting how to breath. As for assistance; try for a private nurse for the night time hours, so your father-in-law can get some rest.
