I enjoy neurofibromatosis but i ain't show if it's type 1 of type 2 does anyone know how 2 find out?
Answers: Only a doctor that is femilair next to neurofibromatosis can tell you which type you have.
It's a tricky diagnosis. My daughter was diagnosed with it at a completely young age. She had more then 6 cafe au lait spots. But as she aged she get more. That is all that happened. She never got any other minor symptom. It seems to me that 2 has far more serious effects. That's not saying 1 doesn't. But 1 seem to effect the skin and tumors that can grow on the nerves. 2 can cause many more problems effecting many other areas. But it's not confident to know what will happen. Some people have enormously few symptoms and other have a lot. There is a genetic test. But it may merely tell you if you have it. Not whether it's 1 or 2.
To be given the diagnosis of NF1, an individual must have at least two of the following features. Some people next to NF1 have only two, while others can have abundant of these features:
x or more café-au-lait spots over 5 mm in prepuberal patients and over 15 mm after puberty.
* Two or more neurofibromas of any type or one plexiform neurofibroma
* Optic pathway tumour
* Two or more Lisch nodules
distinctive osseous lesion such as sphenoid wing dysplasia or thinning of the cortex of the long bones.
*A first-degree relative with NF1 by the above criteria.
