Do you know anyone or anything roughly speaking Porphyria?

I know someone with it that says he has this as a mutation and is a modern morning vampire. He has said as well he biting someone and making them bleed they are becoming one and they say they are afterwords give or take a few how their heart is a different place, they have fangs and, blah, blah . Do he and them just own their heads in the clouds? What do you know about this "vampire disease"?
Answers:    Porphyria have nothing to do with being a "vampire". He may newly be having hallucinations..
acute, or hepatic, porphyrias primarily affect the nervous system, resulting contained by abdominal pain, vomiting, acute neuropathy, seizures and mental disturbances, including hallucinations, depression, anxiety and paranoia. Cardiac arrhythmias and tachycardia (fast heart rate) may develop as the autonomic worried system is affected. Pain can be severe and can, in some cases, be both acute and chronic in quality. Constipation is frequently present, as the nervous system of the gut is affected, but diarrhea can also occur.

Given the abundant presentations and the relatively uncommon occurrence of porphyria the patient may initially be suspected to hold other, unrelated conditions. For instance, the polyneuropathy of acute porphyria may be mistaken for Guillain-Barré syndrome, and porphyria testing is commonly recommended in those scenario.[4] Systemic lupus erythematosus features photosensitivity, pain attacks and shares various other symptoms with porphyria.[5]

Patients with acute porphyria (PCT, AIP, HCP, VP) are at increased risk over their life for hepatocellular carcinoma (primary liver cancer) and may require monitoring. Other typical risk factor for liver cancer need not be present, such as hepatitis B or C, iron overload or alcoholic cirrhosis.
I am a nurse; I did a few research papers on porphyria while in college.
Porphyria is a collection of several related disorders, some of which have signs and symptoms that could be interpreted as individual vampiric--if you are a superstitious, uneducated, illiterate peasant from a backwards village of the 1500s.
forms of Porphyria impose urine to turn to a rusty color like rotting blood after exposure to the light. Some cause the teeth to go red as though you had been drinking blood. Others cause you to crave iron or heme, as found contained by raw red meat and blood, due to deficiencies of iron in your own blood.
It is possible for an individual to suffer from multiple forms of Porphyria, thus have an unpredictible collection of "signs" of being a Vampire.
Porphyria is a disturbance of enzyme production. Is does not move your heart, make fangs, or anything fun resembling that.
Your friend may be confusing Porphyria with the source of certain Vampire myths...people buried contained by coffins do not decay in the same route as animals on the ground. When peasants in search of Wampyrs (they would look for these creatures in response to the presence of tuberculosis among their peers) would verbs up graves, they would find that the corpses gums had withdrawn (giving the appearance of fangs), the body was full of red fluid (normal decay products) giving it an almost lifelike appearance, it appeared bloated and resourcefully fed (due to gasses released by decay), rigor mortis had gone away (normal), and, when they staked it through the heart, it would groan (gasses released by decay escaping).
hyria is a mutation. When you drop the Syfy and X-Men definition...lots of things are mutations...close to hemophilia and many birth defects. Source(s): Lots of research. Lots of time watching Discovery and The Learning Channel. Lots of time in college libraries.
i dream up their heads in the clouds. it's a rare genetic disease. I've never hear of it if I wasn't vampire fans.
