Liver function test - alcohol name-calling?
Would a liver function test show a period of time of excess alcohol consumed? I know already about the fuzz alcohol testing but want to know if a liver function blood test would show say a term of a month at least of alcohol consumption. Many thanks
Answers: People who drink alot will have peculiar gamma-GT levels (raised), in addition connote cell volume (red blood cells) will be raised.
liver itself may show a yellow fatty appearance due to alcohol abuse, surrounded by more serious cases there may be signs of alcoholic hepatitis (which will show as raised levels of the transferases and possibly bilirubin).
So the answer to your sound out is YES.
