Alcoholics Anonymous query......?

Do men in the program tend to have bad temper or anger problems?? Do they eventually overcome these or learn how to better control them?
Answers:     I never been there but I would suggest no as an answer when relating to the word "tend". I am sure some may but from adjectives the dang alcoholics I know, most are the happy type of alcoholics.
le with tempers and anger problems usually move about to anger management classes.

Good Luck!
In my experience, yes, not just men but population in general in AA do enjoy serious anger problems. And AA does little to help with these issues because according to its doctrine, anger is a "bad" emotion that should be banished....which ability that it often gets stuffed and not dealt near until a crisis erupts at which point the AA member has no tools for dealing with it. (Saying "don't obtain angry" isn't a tool.)

Just my experience after 9 years in the program.
It is not uncommon, but not mandatory. I beleive that drinking often reflect other problems. Not the same for eveyone, but for some it will be procrastination, shame, unhealthy anger.

I did not really deal near mine in AA. I am actually learning to settlement with mine now with Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy and I own lessened my issues greatly, although it is a pain in the rear and profusely of persistant work and effort. Source(s): 26 yrs sober, first 12 yrs in AA
