Alzheimers wandering into house.?
One of my neighbors is showing signs of Alzheimers and has begun wandering around the neighborhood, usually asking for help notion that she is being followed and looking for her grandkids. She has come to my house several times and we have any called her son or husband to get her, or walked her subsidise home ourselves.
y, she actually came into my house through the back door, looking for her grand-daughter and luckily I agreed her voice and didnt go for a firearm. I had been working contained by and out of the yard and left the backdoor open.
Apart from keeping adjectives my doors closed and relaying what happened to her family; is there anything else I can do to protect both her well-being and my safekeeping. Is this something that I should report to the police so that there is a record of her coming around, disoriented?
Answers: Her family is apparently contained by denial and NOT protecting her.
My uncle JUMPED OUT A SECOND STORY WINDOW IN HIS PAJAMAS when he had Alzheimers and when the doctor examined him he was afterwards sent to a nursing home with locked doors so that he could not just wander past its sell-by date into the woods or traffic.
You could try calling the Adult Protective Services for her own well being.
