Question going on for smoking cigarettes and my robustness?
I am 16 years old,and i went through some pretty rough times in times past 6 months(dad arrested, parents divorced, grandma passed away,FLAT broke,) stuff like that. During this time,i picked up the bad habit of smoking cigarettes for give or take a few a 2 month period. My passion in energy is the game of basketball, and i used ot be scouted by 2 scouts before all of this have happened. I am going into the 11th grade, and i want to get put money on to training and getting my stamina back up. I probally have had no more than 200 cigarettes total. I notice when i run,i still run my mile in about 6 minutes and 30 seconds(used to be 6:15).But now when i run,i breathe so much harder presently. I really want to save my life and become very hearty again. My question is...after smoking for about 2 months, are my lungs permanently dilapidated after smoking?will i ever be able to be as good as i was up to that time i started smoking?will i ever be able to breathe as clear as i used to?please,i need help.im trying to turn my natural life back around and basketball will be a huge savior to me. Thanks for all the help guys
Answers: For every cigarette you've smoked it take 24 hours for your lungs to regenerate. You didn't do to much damage, but if you don't stop you can kiss your lungs good bye. So be smart and stop while it's easy...
My ex-husband lately died from a cancerous tumor on the throat. My son tells me he suffered a lot. First they cut it and lost his voice and tumor reappeared. It consent to a hole on the skin and according to those who saw him it smelled bad each time he took a breath.
ing is unglamorous, people smells, and used smoking is even worse. Although we were only married 7 years with time I developed COPD and I never smoked.
Good communication and bad news. Mostly good.
Bad first.
You are 16. Cancer is something that develops over time. If you put cancer cause chemicals in you, they will do more harm according to how long they are in you. So you are better rotten starting smoking when you are 60 than when you are 16 if you want to avoid lung cancer. Dont worry though.
are 16 and learned a right lesson that will be of great value for your entire life. Quitting smoking will increase the quality of your existence more than if you go to Harvard. 200 cigarettes is NOTHING. You put a lot of junk surrounded by you, and that will all have to be cleaned out, but you will be fine. If you are running and exercising,.. the effects of smoking on you in a month will not even be conspicuous. At your age, your body could recover from just about anything. Cheer up. Things are going to seize a lot better for you soon.
My parents divorced when I was a junior too. My advice: clear attention to college. Do not give up on that. Source(s): Smoking and chewing from 16 to 26. Up to a pack a day for years. One day. I quit.
very well i heard that if u r obese ur artery are packed with adjectives that junk (cholosteorol) but if u work out and eat healthy it will turn away and ur arteries will be clear again. I think it goes for the lungs too. I've also smoked when i was 13 and in a minute i don't do it anymore (I am 16 now) also i heard from my friends that milk helps ur lungs to get fit or something like that (not sure though cold milk or hot)
