Symptoms of mold contained by my house?
For about a year and half, our basement would flood thru crack surrounded by the cement (less than 1" certain areas). Have recently began to break up the concrete. Job is far from human being complete, moist/gravel, rock dirt and broken up concrete is present. My 12 yr old son has some seasonal allergies. But I have be noticing him waking up stuffed nose, other clearing his throat of mucus, just nasal congestion all around. My basement wont be finished for at least possible another 3 months. What can I do or give him to relieve him of this stress. I have a 4 yr old daughter, I've also notice a build up of mucus in her throat that last weeks at a time. Could I have elevated volumes of mold in my house thats affecting my children's health?
Answers: If your children happen to be allergic, and by what you describe they simply might be, any amount of mold in the basement will make them sick.
our basement was somewhat disturbed by breaking up the concrete, you might hold stirred a higher amount of mold in the air, thus they might get the impression a bit worse because of that.
Although your basement will not be finished for 3 months, there are some things you should do right away.
The first is to provide a good drainage system to stop underground store leakage and flood. Call a good basement waterproofing company and hold them install a internal perimeter drainage system and an sump pump, preferably with a battery operate backup.
can then go and get a good basement dehumidifier, preferably one with an nouns filter, to deal with air moisture surrounded by the basement. Keep the RH levels around 50% and mold will not come back.
A accurate dehumidifier with an air filter should also eliminate spores and allergens already present within the air.

in my inference mold that forms in basements is toxic and in this case can surely effect your childrens vigour. either leave every window within your hoome open or move out during the repairs, also realize the spores go airbonre and will be eveywhere and on everything
