Those two words don't belong together. An illness is either acute or chronic. The diagnosis is the medical term for the sickness. One could have acute bronchitis or chronic bronchitis, one being a fast kick-off and short in duration. Chronic would be one of long duration, as in repeated and frequent bouts of acute bronchitis whose symptoms lessen in strength but it's other there causing damage to the lungs. There are criteria to respectively illness which makes it either acute or chronic such as, let's stay near bronchitis, acute and chronic bronchitis. Acute bronchitis is defined as an inflammation of the mucosa of the lungs for whatever reason. Chronic bronchitis is diagnosed by the fact the schooner cells, which produce mucous, are 75% larger than normal as a response to continuing irritations. So there are permaent change to the anatomy of the structure involved.
God bless.
