Ahh someone abet. My 9 month ripened have an Mrsa infection on his skin will this travel into his blood stream?

We are seeing a infectious disease specialist and have been trying to fight mrsa ourselves for days gone by month my boyfriend and I were put on antibiotics and we are now free of it but just today we have to take our 9 month old son to have his boils drained and the doctor doesnt seem to be worried and today our son starts antibiotics... Has anyone every been through this with a baby... Also I watch an episode on oprah today on mrsa and it was horrible the 11 year old girl died.... Now I'm paranoid after watching Oprah.
Answers:    Anything can happen, as you saw on Oprah, but blood infections are not drastically common in young children next to a healthy immune system. It is good that you are seeing an infectious disease doctor. I have set atleast 5 children that have suffered from MRSA infections. All have done well beside antibiotic treatment. Good luck!
