A sunburn request for information?

Yesterday i was in the sun for a couple hours with no sunscreen, merely occasional shade, this morning when i took a shower as soon as the water hit my back , a small area close to my shoulders began to hurt , I thought it was a sunburn but the area is not red at adjectives , the pain does feel similar to a burn though. The area is conceivably a little bigger then a quarter. is it possible to get a sunburn contained by a small area like that with absolutly no reddness? at hand was alot more area then that exposed as i be wearing a tank top.
Answers:    lt could be that the redness just hasn't showed up but but if when you bathe later tonight its still hurting l'd make a Dr's app, even an insect bite would show a bump and some reddishness so its better to be safe about it
