Get a nit comb....especially if she have dark hair nits can be very intricate to spot....usually most schools/nurseries dont allow children to come back unless they are completely cleared of nits.
There was a TV show on these just the other day.
lice are small, six-legged wingless insects, pin-head size when they hatch, smaller quantity than match-head size when fully grown and grey/brown in colour.

They don't actually start to itch until you have hundreds of the little beggars. The classic carving of a child scratching its head is just that - an carving :)

Best way to get rid is bubbles hair with conditioner and comb through with a nit comb. The conditioner make the hair shaft slippery so they can't cling on.

Apply conditioner liberally to wet hair (this cause the lice to lose their grip on the hair)

Comb the hair through with a normal comb first
a fine tooth nit comb, comb from the roots along the complete length of the curls and after each stroke check the comb for lice and wipe it clean. Work methodically over the whole organizer for at least 30 minutes

Rinse the hair as normal
