Help - Does This Sound Like Oral Herpes?
I am the kind of person who really freaks out when an unknown medical problem arises. Yesterday, I started having burning sensations on my gums. I suspect that I enjoy gum disease because they bleed every now and then when I floss.
ver, I became alarmed this morning when I woke up next to my bottom lip swollen. It is swollen to the point where eating is uncomfortable and my speech get muffled at times.
I noticed some faint white spots on the inside of my lip. Does this sound similar to oral herpes? I've never been officially diagnosed, but I am sure Ive had it for years. Every very soon and then I get sores on my upper lips near pus, but I can usually hide it well with my moustache. Can't squirrel away this fat lip!
Answers: Well.. it does sound like it... specially if it is painfull and gives you a burning sensation.
is it possible that you own an allergy to something, you really need to go and get check esp if your speech is artificial.
Sounds more like gingivitis (when you mention burning and bleeding gums) and or fever blisters which is a type of oral herpes. They come next to symptoms like itching, burning or tingling sensations which would happen around where the swelling is.
Oral herpes doesn't commonly go off on the inside of the mouth, it commonly happens on the lips and around the out side of the mouth. Oral herpes or fever blisters are drastically common to have 50-90 percent of the world has them, it sounds similar to you may have them too. They are often contracted during child hood from kissing relatives or friends who have cold sores. If you want to be sure next get the sores tested when they happen next.
