How are herpes passed??(i am a girl..my describe is only just fault ..to hoard my true identity)?
i have a new boyfriend and i think it would be concerned of wierd to ask him if he has herpes..So i know that it can spread from saliva(sores or healed sores in the mouth), and we be gonna kiss for the first time but im scared(kinda)..im not sure if he has it but he does have the average teenage acne..i know its acne but im still concerned of cautious...
about a week or two ago something happened that make me think he doesnt have it. so we were discussion and i told him about the other day when i fell and i got cut. after (lol) he kissed it for me and said it would make it better(and it did)(really ..it went away like a light of day or 2 later)..but my point is that i also know herpes can spread to me if i have scraps or open cuts and at the time i as expected did..so if he did have herpes ..wouldnt i have gotten it then(when he kissed it..it was a damp kiss(soooo..saliva didd spread)..but nothing happened)..so should i be scared to kiss him.
Answers: Actually, herpes isn't spread through salivia. It's spread through skin-to-skin contact. Most adults (50% to 80%) have oral herpes. It's usually caught within childhood from kissing relatives, and it is NOT an STD.
If it were me, I wouldn't be scared to kiss him. If he has an in full view sore on his mouth, then I would avoid kissing him - but mostly because kissing people with embark on sores on their mouth is sort of gross. And never EVER recieve oral sex from someone who has an open sore on their mouth - because oral herpes can be spread to the genitals where it become ... you guessed it .. genital herpes.
truth is, most people who you will kiss - including your grandmother - probably have oral herpes.
If you want to learn more give or take a few oral herpes (and it sounds like perhaps you do) I would recommend the website below. It's easy to read, and path more reliable than most answers on Y!A.
You should always be open and honest with your partner, but be aware that many stds can go without symptoms for a long time, so individuals may not know what they have. Oral herpes is very common, so you should ask your boyfriend if he have ever had sores on his mouth.
