HIV..Been Tested 4 times..presently what?
Hello! I had unprotected sex back in commencement to mid December, with a co-worker who's status is unknown to me. He did not ejaculate inside me. I was tested first week of January, last week of March, first week of April, and on June 5. All be negative. I tested through Planned Parenthood, with the rapid exam. They said it is very accurate since it tests for the antibodies. They also told me that i would need to come stern exactly at the six month mark, and that the last test be not conclusive..is that correct? Do I still need another test? Thanks!
Answers: If after 3 months you had a glum test, you are negative. Don't bother retesting, December to April is longer that the window time of year.
There are intermittent circumstances where levels can not be detected until the 6 month mark, so any experiment prior will be inconclusive. You probably are negative but to be safe and know for sure, get that later test done.
Kudos to you for taking the test!
If you passed the 3 month waiting spell then you are fine.. The only reason you'll hear hang around 6 months to be sure is from people who don't understand HIV testing have advanced to the point where 3 months is conclusive.. You would only need to skulk 6 months if you had cancer or another disease that has recked havoc on your immune system already thus making the antibodies that the HIV test looks for develop slower than typical.. That is very rare.. The CDC website states most people will check positive within 6 weeks after exposure.. Please don't listen to some of the people on here.. Check the medhelp website HIV forum.. They are questions from authentic people in your situation that have rewarded money to have an HIV doctor answer thier concerns.. You can look at the answers though for free and I can assure you the people on there are surrounded by the same boat as you so your question will be answered.. Feel better 3 months is conclusive..They HAVE to say 6 months only just in case your that 1% that doesn't test positive inwardly 3 months...Its to cover their asses basicly Source(s): Nurse
Yes you do need to progress back. The testing window use to be 3-6 months but immediately I believe the window is 6 months. The rapid tests are accurate however you obligation to wait the 6 month period to see if your body has created antibodies. Good Luck and Stay Protected!
June is already your 6 month mark really...I imagine that planned parenthood is being overly cautious by conducting tests you 4 times already and wanting another one, they are just doing their job making certain you are truely distrustful. I would suggest that you are negative, but if you want that peace of mind get tested again at or after your 6 month mark it doesn't hurt to be extra confident and be more weary of other "risky behaviors"
